Our story
Tāne Furnishings started in 2025 in Richmond, BC. Andrew had seen from the hotel side how hard it is to get good furniture made overseas without paying a chain of middlemen. Alvin knew how to find the right factories and get goods shipped. So they set up to do it directly. Today we work with clients across Canada, the USA and Europe.
Hotel operations
Andrew Brownrigg, co-founder. Andrew has 25 years of experience in hotel operations across Europe, Asia and North America, including work as a hotel general manager. He knows what hotel furniture has to survive and what owners and brands expect.
Trade and sourcing
Alvin Hua, co-founder. Alvin brings extensive experience in business and international trade, with hands-on experience shipping goods. He sources our products, works with our factories and prepares client quotes.
How we work
We don't run our own factory or showroom. We work with specialist factories in China that we've selected for each type of product. That lets us match every order to the factory best suited to it, at the right price, and ship it straight to you.

Our name comes from Tāne, the Māori god of forests and birds. It reflects where good furniture starts, with natural materials and real craftsmanship.
